Baseline ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Jeffrey Bowens. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use the Baseline iOS app.

2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the app's core features (match tracking, rankings, coaching insights)
- To calculate your momentum score, readiness score, and performance analytics
- To enable community features such as court check-in and the "Who's Playing" map
- To send push notifications about your sessions, streaks, and milestones (only if you grant permission)
- To sync your data across your devices via iCloud / CloudKit
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) infrastructure. Match records and profile data are stored in your private iCloud container and in a shared public CloudKit database for community features. Health data from Apple Health is read-only, processed on-device, and is never uploaded to any external server.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your data is shared only in these limited circumstances:
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit — for data sync across your devices
- Community features — your username, display name, and check-in location are visible to other Baseline users while you are checked in. You control when to check in and check out.
- DUPR — if you connect your DUPR account, data is exchanged with DUPR's platform under their own privacy policy
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect rights and safety
5. Apple Health Data
Baseline requests read-only access to Apple Health data to calculate your readiness score and training recommendations. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can revoke Health access at any time in the iOS Settings app.
6. Location Data
Baseline requests "When In Use" location access to identify nearby courts and enable the community check-in map. Your precise location is only shared with other Baseline users while you have an active check-in session. You can end your session at any time to remove your location from the map. Location is never tracked in the background.
7. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (via Profile → Settings → Delete Account), all personally identifiable data is removed from our systems within 30 days.
8. Your Rights
- Access: You can view your data at any time within the app
- Deletion: Use Profile → Settings → Delete Account to request deletion of all your data
- Health data revocation: Revoke Health permissions anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Baseline
- Location revocation: Revoke location permissions anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Baseline
9. Children's Privacy
Baseline is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent changes were made. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
